The Meadows at Gilleland
Creek
The Meadows at Gilleland Creek is a family owned and run venue with a history-rich past.
Also known as “The Ward Place”, The Meadows was built over 100 years ago by Hiram Ward and his
family.  The Wards were among the town’s first settlers including the Pflugers, Bohls, and other prominent
families.  Gilleland Creek runs through The Meadows providing beautiful waterfalls, fish, turtles, and blue
herons.  Ward Spring is located on the premises and served as a great water source for Native
Americans.  This home was the site of the first phone in Pflugerville in  1907 and was run as a dairy farm
for many years.  The property was parceled off in the early 1980s to become the Windermere
Subdivision, retaining only this 3.67 acre homesite.
After falling into disrepair due to a string of wayward tenants, the Ward Place was purchased and
improved by the McMurtrie Family in 2005.
You really must see this place to believe it.  It is great for any event.  From BBQs and Quinceneras to
Reunions and Weddings, any gathering at The Meadows is a great memory in the making!
